Hi I am Meghan, the sport of snowmobile has been in my blood since I was born. I love being outdoors and closer to nature. Places you don’t get to go during the summer. I have taken breaks from Snowmobiling every now and again but always come back to it because it’s home. I was born and raised in Wyoming and happy to have moved back home after years. Love being able to help women and family’s get in the sport. It’s not all about hard terrain. It’s about having fun and pushing yourself.

Well for being 60 years old this season and been riding a sled since the age of 15. It was our way to transport ourselves to the school bus when we lived in the Blue Mountains of Eastern Oregon, and today I still ride with the younger crowd, and happy to show people the backcountries of Eastern Oregon and making friends with them. Other than that, I can be fierce of a person, but with no doubt be willing to help when stuck, but first pictures. My love for this sport, goes further than just riding, it's the support that goes behind it with other riders with the same mind set.

As a lifelong Alaskan, snow is part of my DNA. Whether it be snowshoeing, sledding, skiing or snowmobiling I love exploring the great outdoors in winter. I was exposed to snowmobiling when I was young, mostly riding around the cabin or being towed behind in a sled, but my passion for the sport began about 20 years ago. I purchased my first snowmobile and trailer and began riding with a group of guys. The suspensions weren’t what they are now and being small framed I got thrown around quite a bit. My now husband and I spent many hours each weekend honing our riding skills. My playground in Alaska is vast and doesn’t have the same restricted access as other parts of the Untied States. This allows us to explore varied terrain, such as mountain riding, trail riding and boondocking in a single day without running into any other riders. Each year I try to pick a few skills that I would like to work on and focus on them through the season. Last year was picking lines through trees and there really is something therapeutic about this exercise. Of course, I climbed a few trees and broke a few hand guards in the process but that is all part of the learning curve. I think it’s important to push past your fears and work on areas each season that will help you become a better rider.

My name is Kristen Yates and I’m 41 years old. Home, is a little town in Montana called Gardiner (North Entrance to Yellowstone National Park.) My hubby and I manage a 4000-acre private guest ranch just North of Gardiner. My passion for snowmobiling started at a very young age, long before I even knew what was happening. My mother raced snow cross when she was pregnant with me😊 So you could say I grew up riding snowmobiles. When I was little and living in Cooke City MT, my parents tell stories of me riding the rental sleds down the main street of Cooke City to get fuel at the local gas station. I remember either riding behind my dad or riding my own 1997 Polaris Indy XLT. Not many mid-size snowmobiles back in the day. I continued my passion since that day. I live for days that I can head to the mountains, get into my own zone, and just enjoy the peace, quiet, and the mental tranquility that the mountain brings to me. Every season I try to push my limits to the next level. Over the years I have been involved with Octane and Grit Backcountry Ladies Rides and Clinic. We host a 4-day ladies' snowmobile clinic and a 2-day ladies' ride to Cooke City every year. I love the part of helping women succeed in their goals in just a short few days. My favorite riding area is Cooke City MT. I love the challenges that the area has. One minute you are riding a nice fluffy meadow and the next be stuck in a creek bottom surrounded by trees. My snow pony of choice is a 2019 Arctic Cat Alpha One 165 track. I am also a Brand Ambassador for Off Road Vixen, Rocky Mountain Snow Conditions, and a Sponsored athletes for Oxbow Gear. I am also the Treasurer (5th year) of our local snowmobile club in Cooke City MT (Upper Yellowstone Snowmobile Club). Last year I was appointed Treasurer of our state snowmobile Club (Montana Snowmobile Association).

About myself..well..I’m current UYSC President and I’m MSA Region 10 Director. I started riding mountain sleds when my wife and I got married. She had ridden most of her life. We took a family trip to Cooke City and had so much fun we bought sleds and never looked back. We try to be as active in the sport, on and off the snow, as we possibly can. Our interest doesn’t just stop at snow. We love to ride our UTV’s, fish, and hunt.

My love and drive for snowmobiling started when I was in third grade when my dad bought our first snowmobile, it was a 1978 Arctic Cat Panther 500 after my first ride I was hooked. My first sled that I bought with my own money as a teenager was a 1993 Yamaha Exciter 570 SX, I definitely had an awesome childhood growing up with sleds and in the mountains. When I graduated high school, I joined the United States Marine Corps. I was stationed at Cherry Point North Carolina where I was deployed twice to Iraq, after 9 years and 2 months I was honorably discharged and moved back to Montana with my wife and kids in February 2015. Since my return I have been working hard and pursing my passion for snowmobiling as wells using snowmobiling to help veterans and first responders.

I grew up visiting my grandpa in Eastern Idaho riding snowmobiles with him until I was big enough to pull start one myself, only then was I allowed to ride one on my own. But by that point it was too late... I made it through college, packed my stuff, and moved to east Idaho. Bought a sled the first year here and haven't quit since!

My name is Jewelz, I’m from a small town in northern bc called Smithers, I love sledding because it gives me a feeling like nothing else in the world… it’s freedom, it’s serenity, it’s adrenaline, it’s happiness .. There’s nothing quite like being in the mountains, on top of the world and being surrounded by nothing but pure beauty and peace. I love the friends that I have made along the way they become much like family and we rely on each other out there to make sure we all get back home safe. When I’m on my sled, it’s the only time I’m so focused on what’s in front of me and living in that exact moment. I love going on big adventures and chasing snow from October to July! I also enjoy family days and getting my daughter out as much as possible as she absolutely loves the sport herself. I’ve been riding for about 8 years now and every year it gets better and easier!
